Removal (2.3L)
NOTE:
Special service tool, Syncro Positioning Tool (T93P-12200-A) is required for installation of the synchronizer assembly.
Set cylinder No. 1 to Top Dead Center (TDC) of the compression stroke. Then note the position of the camshaft sensor electrical connector. The installation procedure requires that the connector be located in the same position. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Disconnect the camshaft sensor electrical connector. Remove the camshaft sensor mounting screws from the sensor. Remove the sensor. Remove the synchronizer bolt and clamp. Remove the synchronizer from the engine block.
CAUTION:
DO NOT rotate crankshaft after removing CMP sensor.
