Removal and Replacement

Powertrain Control Module:







NOTE: When the battery (10653) has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur until the powertrain control module relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 10 miles or more to relearn the adaptive strategy.

REMOVAL

1. Open hood (16612) and disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Loosen connector-to-module retaining screw and unplug connector.

3. Remove two screws and powertrain control cover. Pull powertrain control module from bracket.

INSTALLATION

1. To install powertrain control module, reverse removal procedure.

2. Tighten connector retainer screw to 5 to 7 Nm (44 to 62 in lb).
