Removal & Installation
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove water pump pulley shield (trim panel on top of engine). Disconnect brake booster and emission vacuum line by depressing Black retainer with a screwdriver.
- Remove air cleaner outlet tube. Remove throttle linkages from throttle body. Remove accelerator cable bracket from intake manifold and position aside. Remove IAC valve hose from upper intake manifold.
- Disconnect fuel injector harness connectors from TP sensor, IAC valve and EGR vacuum regulator valve. Disconnect vacuum hose to EGR valve. Loosen EGR tube nut at EGR valve and position tube aside.
- Loosen upper intake manifold bolts in reverse of tightening sequence. See Fig 1. Remove upper intake manifold. Remove and discard gaskets. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten upper intake manifold bolts in sequence to specification. See Fig 1. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS.
