Knock Sensor: Service and Repair

NOTE: The Knock Sensor (KS) is located on the right side of the cylinder block.

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.

2. Raise vehicle on hoist.

3. Disconnect engine control sensor wiring from KS.

4. Remove KS from cylinder block.

INSTALLATION

1. To install, reverse removal procedure.

2. Tighten KS to 29-39 Nm (21-29 ft lb).
