Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor And Heater Elbow Connection:





REMOVAL and INSTALLATION

1. Disconnect negative battery cable.

NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the powertrain control module (PCM) relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.

2. Partially drain cooling system.

3. Disconnect engine coolant temperature sensor electrical connector.

4. Remove engine coolant temperature sensor from lower intake manifold.

5. To install, reverse removal procedures. Tighten the engine coolant temperature sensor to 16-24 Nm (12-17 lb ft). Refill cooling system.
