Pinpoint Test A - Quick Test

  1. Lock and unlock each door several times from each individual switch. If doors lock and unlock properly, go to next step. If doors do not lock and unlock properly, go to PINPOINT TEST C  .
  2. Sit in vehicle with all doors closed. Turn ignition on. Turn interior lights on with dimmer switch. If interior lights come on, go to next step. If interior lights do not come on, go to PINPOINT TEST B  .
  3. Turn ignition on. Temporarily insert shorting plug into program connector. If doors lock and unlock, go to next step. If doors do not lock and unlock, go to PINPOINT TEST D  .
  4. Remove shorting plug from program connector. Turn ignition off. Close and unlock all doors. Press LOCK button on transmitter. If system operates properly, go to step 7). If system does not operate properly, go to next step.
  5. Close and lock all doors. Press UNLOCK button on transmitter. If doors unlock and interior lamps illuminate when door is opened, go to next step. If doors do not unlock, go to step 7).
  6. Turn ignition off. Press UNLOCK button on transmitter twice within 5 seconds. If doors and liftgate unlock, go to next step. If doors and liftgate do not unlock, replace door lock control module and retest system.
  7. With ignition off, press PANIC button on transmitter. If horn sounds and parking lamps flash on and off, go to next step.
    NOTE: Step 8) must be performed less than 3 minutes after step 7).
  8. Press PANIC button on transmitter. If horn and parking lamps go off, go to next step. If horn and parking lamps do not turn off, replace door lock control module and retest.
  9. Press PANIC button on transmitter. Turn ignition on. If horn and parking lamps turn off, go to next step. If horn and parking lamps do not turn off, replace door lock control module and retest.
  10. Turn ignition off. Ensure doors are closed and unlocked. Press LOCK button on transmitter twice within 5 seconds. If horn sounds and parking lamps flash on and off, go to next step. If horn does not sound and parking lamps do not flash, replace door lock control module and retest.
  11. Turn ignition on. Close and lock all doors. Press UNLOCK button on transmitter. If any doors unlock, replace door lock control module and retest. If no doors unlock, remote keyless entry system is okay.
