Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove the air cleaner to intake manifold tube.
3. Disconnect the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector.
4. Remove the four MAF sensor bolts.
5. Remove the MAF sensor from the air cleaner housing cover. If necessary, remove the MAF sensor gasket.

INSTALLATION

CAUTION: If scraping is necessary, be careful not to damage the air cleaner housing cover or the MAF sensor gasket surfaces.

1. Inspect gasket for signs of deterioration and replace as necessary.
2. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
3. Tighten the MAF sensor bolts to 8-12 Nm (72-108 lb in).
