Trouble Code Access Using Data Link Connector

  1. If system selector is not available, connect a jumper wire between terminals TEN and GND of data link connector. See Fig 1 . Observe Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL). Note trouble codes. Check TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION  chart for possible cause.
  2. If light remains on continuously, MIL circuit is grounded or ECM is defective. If more than one code is present, codes will be displayed in numerical order. Clear codes after repairs are complete. See CLEARING CODES  .
