Idle Air Control Valve

Unplug Idle Air Control (IAC) valve. Connect ohmmeter across 2-wire connector terminals. See Fig 1 . Measure resistance. Resistance should be 10.7-12.3 ohms at 68°F (20°C). If resistance is not within specification, replace ISC valve. If resistance is okay, remove valve and inspect for sludge build-up. Clean or replace as necessary.
