Wiper Motor Test

  1. Disconnect negative battery terminal. Disengage linkage from motor. Unplug wiper connector. Connect Green lead from Starting and Charging System Tester (078-00005) to positive battery post.
  2. Connect Red tester lead to wiper motor terminal No. 4 (Black wire on mating connector). Connect jumper wire between motor terminal No. 5 (White wire on mating connector) and ground. Observe ammeter. Connect Red tester lead to motor terminal No. 6 (Dark Blue/Orange wire on mating connector). Again observe ammeter. Motor current should not exceed 3.5 amps for either measurement. Replace wiper motor as necessary.
