Knock Sensor: Service and Repair

Knock Sensors (KS):

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

NOTE: The Knock Sensor (KS) is located on top of the cylinder block, under the upper intake manifold and lower intake manifolds.

1. Remove upper intake manifold and lower intake manifolds.
2. Disconnect wiring harness connectors from the knock sensors.
3. Remove knock sensors from cylinder block.
4. To install, reverse Removal procedures. Tighten the knock sensors to 16-22 Nm (12-16 lb ft).
