DTC B1681 - Transceiver Module Signal Not Received
- Clear DTCs and rerun On-Demand Self-Test. If DTC B1681 is present, go to next step. If DTC B1681 is not present, system is operating normally.
- Check for proper mounting of transceiver. See TRANSCEIVER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If transceiver is mounted correctly, go to next step. If transceiver is not mounted correctly, correct condition, clear DTCs and rerun self-test.
- Using New Generation Star Tester (007-00500), request ACTIVE COMMAND MODES PID from PATS. Perform TRANSMIT SIGNAL COMMAND ON. Transmit signal produces a 2 seconds on, 2 seconds off voltage cycle. Disconnect transceiver module connector. See Figure . Measure voltage between ground and transceiver harness connector terminal No. 2 (Purple/Light Blue wire). If voltage is 8 volts or more, go to next step. If voltage is less than 8 volts, repair open or short in circuit No. 164 (Purple/Light Blue wire) and retest system.
- Repeat TRANSMIT SIGNAL COMMAND ON. Measure resistance between ground and transceiver harness connector terminal No. 1 (Tan/White wire). If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in circuit No. 165 (Tan/White wire) and retest system.
- Repeat TRANSMIT SIGNAL COMMAND ON. Measure voltage between ground and transceiver harness connector terminal No. 4 (Brown/Orange wire). If voltage is 2 volts or more, go to next step. If voltage is less than 2 volts, check connector for open or loose terminals and/or repair open or short in circuit No. 167 (Brown/Orange wire) and retest system.
- Repeat TRANSMIT SIGNAL COMMAND ON. Reconnect transceiver connector. Measure voltage by backprobing between transceiver connector terminal No. 3 and ground. If voltage is 2 volts or more, go to next step. If voltage is less than 2 volts, check connector for open or loose terminals and/or repair open or short in circuit No. 934 (Red/Yellow wire) and retest system.
- Clear DTCs and rerun On-Demand Self-Test. If DTC B1681 is present, replace PATS module. Program first key into memory by turning ignition from off to run. Program a spare key if necessary. See SPARE KEY PROGRAMMING . Retest system. If code B1681 is not present, replace transceiver module and retest system.
