Test B: Electronic Automatic Temperature Control (EATC) Fault On Circuits No. 914 & 915

  1. If DTC 0002 is retrieved for circuit No. 914 (Tan/Orange wire), go to next step. If DTC 0002 is not retrieved for circuit No. 914 (Tan/Orange wire), go to step 5).
  2. Disconnect EATC Black 13-pin connector C228. Inspect connector and pin No. 14 (Tan/Orange wire) for damage or corrosion. If connector and pin No. 14 is okay, go to next step. If connector or pin No. 14 is damaged, repair as necessary. Reconnect connectors. Repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS under COMMUNICATION NETWORK DIAGNOSTICS .
  3. Inspect EATC module pin No. 14. If pin No. 14 is okay, go to next step. If pin No. 14 is damaged, repair as necessary. If pin No. 14 cannot be repaired, replace EATC module. Reconnect connectors. Repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS  under COMMUNICATION NETWORK DIAGNOSTICS.
  4. Measure resistance between Data Link Connector (DLC) pin No. 2 and EATC Black 13-pin connector C228 terminal No. 14 (Tan/Orange wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace EATC module. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair circuit No. 914 (Tan/Orange wire) and circuit No. 915 (Pink/Light Blue wire) between DLC and EATC connector C228. Reconnect connectors. Repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS  under COMMUNICATION NETWORK DIAGNOSTICS.
  5. Disconnect EATC Black 13-pin connector C228. Inspect connector and pin No. 13 (Pink/Light Blue wire) for damage or corrosion. If connector and pin No. 13 is okay, go to next step. If connector or pin No. 13 is damaged, repair as necessary. Reconnect connectors. Repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS  under COMMUNICATION NETWORK DIAGNOSTICS.
  6. Disconnect EATC White 13-pin connector C227. Inspect EATC module pin No. 15. If pin No. 15 is okay, go to next step. If pin No. 15 is damaged, repair as necessary. If pin No. 15 cannot be repaired, replace EATC module. Reconnect connectors. Repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS under COMMUNICATION NETWORK DIAGNOSTICS .
  7. Measure resistance between Data Link Connector (DLC) pin No. 10 and EATC Black 13-pin connector C228 terminal No. 13 (Pink/Light Blue wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace EATC module. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair circuit No. 915 (Pink/Light Blue wire) between DLC and EATC connector C228. Reconnect connectors. Repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS  under COMMUNICATION NETWORK DIAGNOSTICS.
