WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1997 Lincoln Continental. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Check Left Turn Signal - Turn hazard switch on. Observe left rear turn signal light. If both turn signal lights are flashing, go to next step. If both turn signal lights are not flashing, go to step 3).
- Check Right Turn Signal - Turn hazard switch on. Observe right rear turn signal light. If both turn signal lights are flashing, replace LCM and retest system. If both turn signals are not flashing, go tostep 5).
- Check For Battery Voltage At Left Rear Turn Signal - Turn hazard switch on. Disconnect connectors to left rear turn signal bulb. Measure voltage between ground and Light Green/Orange wire at left rear turn signal bulb wiring harness connector. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair open or short to ground in circuit No. 9 (Light Green/Orange wire). Retest system.
- Check Ground Circuit At Left Rear Turn Signal - Measure resistance between ground and Black wire at both left turn signal bulb wiring harness connectors. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace turn signal bulb and retest system. If continuity is more than 5 ohms, repair open ground circuit No. 57 (Black wire). Retest system.
- Check For Battery Voltage At Right Rear Turn Signal - Turn hazard switch on. Disconnect connector to right rear turn signal bulb. Measure voltage between ground and Orange/Light Blue wire at right rear signal wiring harness connector. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair open or short to ground in circuit No. 57 (Black wire). Retest system.
- Check Ground Circuit At Right Rear Turn Signal - Measure resistance between ground and Black wire at both right turn signal bulb wiring harness connectors. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace turn signal bulb and retest system. If continuity is more than 5 ohms, repair open ground circuit No. 57 (Black wire). Retest system.
