Section 14 (Anti-Theft Alarm System): Description
The anti-theft alarm system is designed to prevent unauthorized entry into engine compartment and driver's and passenger's doors. When anti-theft alarm system is triggered, engine is disabled from starting, horn sounds, headlights, park lights, courtesy lights and anti-theft indicator light starts flashing. Anti-theft indicator light is located on indicator light module at center of instrument panel.
The anti-theft alarm system consists of anti-theft indicator light, Steering Column/Ignition/Lighting Control (SCIL) module, anti-theft hood switch and disarm switches. SCIL module is located behind passenger's side of instrument panel, to the right of glove box. SCIL module contains one 16-pin connector, one 22-pin connector and two 26-pin connectors. See Fig 1 . Anti-theft hood switch is located below the hood on passenger's front fender, just above fenderwell. A disarm switch is located on door lock cylinder on driver's and passenger's door. Disarm switch may also be referred to as door lock cylinder switch.
