Input Test

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1997 Mercury Mystique and 1997 Ford Contour. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Enter vehicle, latch driver's seat belt and close door. Press and hold rear window defogger switch. Turn ignition on. Release rear window defogger switch.
  2. CTM will actuate warning chime each time any of following inputs is actuated. If chime does not actuate, replace CTM and retest system.
    • Latch then unlatch driver's seat belt.
    • Actuate illuminated entry switch. Lift and release outside door handle without opening door.
    • Press, then release rear window defogger switch.
