Wiper Motor Current Test

  1. Disengage pivot arm from wiper motor. Unplug connector from wiper motor. See Fig 1 . Connect jumper wire from Yellow/Red wire terminal of motor to ground.
  2. Connect ammeter between positive battery terminal and White wire terminal of motor. Measure high speed current. Disconnect ammeter from White wire terminal, and connect it to Dark Blue/Orange wire terminal of motor. Measure low speed and high speed current. In low speed, current should not exceed 3.5 amps. In high speed, current should not exceed 5.5 amps. If current exceeds specification, replace motor.
