Wiper Motor Current Test

  1. Disengage wiper arm linkage from wiper motor. Unplug connector from wiper motor. Connect ammeter between positive battery terminal and LO terminal No. 5 (Dark Blue/Orange wire). See Fig 1 .
  2. Connect jumper wire from ground to ground terminal No. 3 (Black wire) on wiper motor connector. Measure low speed current. Disconnect jumper wire from LO terminal No. 5. Connect jumper wire to HI terminal No. 4 (White wire) on wiper motor connector. Measure high speed current. In either test, current should not exceed 5.5 amps. Replace motor if current draw exceeds specification.
