Test K: Easy Entry/Exit Feature Inoperative

- Turn Feature On - Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Press MENU button on message center until EASY ENTRY/EXIT is displayed. If feature is turned on, go to next step. If feature is not turned on, Press SELECT button to toggle feature ON. Memory control will turn this feature on and off. Advise customer of operation.
- Test Easy Exit - Ensure that seat is at least 2 inches forward. Turn ignition off and remove key. If seat moves back 2 inches, go to next step. If seat does not move back 2 inches, go to step 7).
- Test Easy Exit Return - Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If seat returns to original position, go to next step. If seat does not return to original position, go to step 7).
- Test Easy Entry - Turn ignition off and remove key. Open driver door and get out for at least 10 seconds. Sit in driver seat and close door. If seat does not return to original position, go to next step. If seat returns to original position, system is operating properly.
- Test Seat Occupied Input - Connect NGS tester to data link connector. Enter diagnostic data link. Enter lighting control module. Enter PID data monitor and record. Select PID D_SEAT. Press START button. Ensure driver seat is vacant. If OCCUPD is not displayed, go to next step. If OCCUPD is displayed, check stuck driver seat occupied switch or short in White wire.
- Test Seat Occupied Switch - Occupy driver seat. Repeat step 5). If OCCUPD is not displayed, go to next step. If OCCUPD is displayed, repair open in white wire or replace defective driver seat occupied switch.
- Check Driver Seat Module DTCs - Connect NGS tester to data link connector. Enter diagnostic data link. Enter driver seat module. Enter diagnostic test mode. Retrieve continuous DTCs. If DTCs U1181, U1067 and/or U1213 are not present, replace driver seat module. If DTCs U1181, U1067 and/or U1213 are present, test module communications. See MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article.
