Test C: Improper Forward/Backward Operation

  1. Operation Test  - Unplug seat motor connector. Connect jumper wire to battery voltage. Connect a second jumper wire to ground. Connect jumper leads to Red/White wire and Yellow/White wire of seat motor terminals. Observe motor operation. Reverse leads. Motor should operate in opposite direction. If motor operates correctly, leave jumper wire connected to power supply and go to next step. If motor does not operate as specified, replace motor assembly.
  2. Circuit Test  - Reconnect power seat motor connector. Unplug seat control switch connector. Connect jumper wires as in step 1) on seat control switch harness connector. If seat operates properly, replace seat control switch. If seat does not operate properly, repair suspect circuit.
