Control Module: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove control top panel.
2. Remove transmission control selector dial bezel retaining screws.
3. Lift bezel and disconnect transmission control switch electrical connector from indicator/bulb transmission control switch wire harness.
4. Loosen set screw in forward face of transmission range selector lever knob using an Allen wrench.
5. Remove transmission range selector lever knob and shroud by depressing shift knob button and holding while up firmly. Use caution so as not to lose button and spring.
6. Remove shroud from knob.
7. Remove transmission control switch from knob.

INSTALLATION
1. Follow removal procedure in reverse order.
2. Fully seat the shift knob by gently installing with a rubber mallet.
3. Tighten bezel retaining screws to 2 Nm (17 inch lbs.).
4. Tighten knob set screw.
5. Check the transmission range selector lever for proper operation, make sure the shifter locks in PARK and OVERDRIVE positions.
