Test B1485: Brake Pedal Input Circuit Shorted

  1. Check Stoplight Switch Input  - Select RAP module PID BOO_RAP. Press brake pedal and release while monitoring PID. If PID BOO_RAP reads ON then OFF, clear continuous DTCs, repeat On-Demand Self-Test. If DTC B1845 resets, replace RAP module. Restore and retest system. If PID BOO_RAP does not read ON then OFF with brake pedal depress and release, go to next step.
  2. Check Stoplight Switch Output  - Disconnect RAP connector. With a voltmeter, measure voltage at RAP module connector Light Green wire terminal. Press down and hold brake pedal. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace RAP module. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  . Restore and retest system. If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to next step.
  3. Check Stoplight Operation  - Press down and hold brake pedal. If stoplights come on, repair open in Light Green wire circuit. Restore and retest system. If stoplights do not come on, repair stoplamp bulbs or wiring. Restore and retest system.
