Micro Relays

  1. Remove relay. Measure resistance between relay terminal No. 2 and all other terminals. See Fig 1 . If any resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace relay. If all resistances are 5 ohms or more, go to next step.
  2. Attach jumper wire between battery positive terminal and relay terminal No. 3. Measure voltage between relay terminal No. 4 and ground. If battery voltage is not present, replace relay. If battery voltage is present, go to next step.
  3. Attach second jumper wire from battery positive terminal to relay terminal No. 1. Attach third jumper wire between relay terminal No. 2 and ground. Measure voltage between relay terminal No. 5 and ground. If battery voltage is not present, replace relay. If battery voltage is present, relay is okay
