WARNING:
Vehicle is equipped with an air bag system. System must be disabled before working near steering column and instrument cluster to prevent air bag deployment. See appropriate
AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article.
CAUTION:
Disconnect battery before disconnecting Generic Electronic Module (GEM) harness connectors. Failure to do so will result in GEM storing erroneous codes and may also result in erratic operation of GEM after reconnection. When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.
