No Communication With Abs Control Module (1998 Models)

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect 30-pin ABS control module connector. Turn ignition on. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ABS control module connector terminal No. 8 (Light Blue/Pink wire) and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, replace 10-amp fuse No. 7 located in instrument panel fuse block, and/or repair Light Blue/Pink wire between ABS control module and instrument panel fuse block.
  2. Turn ignition off. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ABS control module connector terminal No. 15 (Black wire) and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, diagnose module communications network. See appropriate MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair Black wire between ABS control module and ground connection.
