Test C: No Communication With Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Module

NOTE: If instrument panel fuse block fuse No. 6 (15-amp) is open, missing or removed, power sliding door memory positions will be lost, and remote control operations may be disabled. See POWER SLIDING DOOR REINITIALIZATION PROCEDURE  under PROGRAMMING.
  1. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at Instrument Panel (I/P) fuse block fuse No. 6 (15-amp). If reading is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If reading is 10 volts or less, locate and repair Tan/Black wire (power feed) between I/P fuse block fuse No. 6 (15-amp) and Battery Junction Box (BJB) fuse No. 115 (50-amp). See POWER DISTRIBUTION article in WIRING DIAGRAMS.
  2. Ensure ignition is in OFF position. Disconnect RKE module connector C200. Measure voltage between ground and RKE module connect C200 terminal No. 11 (Light Green/Violet wire). See Figure . If reading is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If reading is 10 volts or less, repair open in Light Green/Violet wire.
  3. Measure resistance between RKE module connector C200 terminal No. 8 (Black wire) and ground. See Figure . If reading is less than 5 ohms, repair network concern. See MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK - WINDSTAR article. If reading is 5 ohms or more, locate and repair open in Black wire.
