Test A: No Communication With Speed Control Servo Module

  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect speed control servo/actuator 10-pin harness connector C116. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between speed control servo/actuator harness connector C116 terminal No. 7 (Red/Black wire) and ground. See Fig 1 . If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or more, repair power source circuit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Measure resistance between speed control servo/actuator harness connector C116 terminal No. 10 (Black wire) and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair module communication concern. See MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK - WINDSTAR article. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Black wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
