Output Shaft Speed (OSS) Sensor: Installation

    All vehicles 

  1. Inspect the O-ring seal for damage. Install a new seal if damaged. Lubricate the O-ring seal with petroleum jelly to prevent damage to the O-ring seal.
    1. Install the OSS sensor into the transmission.
    2. Tighten the OSS sensor screw.
      • Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

  2. Connect the OSS sensor electrical connector.

  3. Connect the HO2S sensor connector to the transmission case.

  4. Install the shift cable and bracket.
    • Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

  5. 4x4 vehicles 

  6. Install the front driveshaft in the vehicle.

  7. Install the front driveshaft to the transfer case.
    • Tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).

  8. Install the front driveshaft to the front differential.
    • Tighten to 18 Nm (13 lb-ft).
