Section 144 (Power Windows - BLACKWOOD): Description
Power windows are operated by reversible motors mounted on each window regulator. Each window has an individual switch for separate control. A master switch is located on driver's side door from which both driver's side and passenger's side windows may be controlled. A lock-out switch is incorporated in master switch. When actuated, it prevents window operation from passenger's side switch. Accessory delay relay allows power windows to be operated up to 10 minutes after ignition switch is turned to LOCK position, or until a door is opened.
All models are equipped with a one-touch down feature, allowing the driver to lower the left front window fully by momentarily actuating driver's side window down switch at driver's side power window switch. To operate left front window in manual down mode, press left front down switch to first detent. To enter one-touch down mode, press left front down switch to second detent and release. One-touch down feature is controlled by the Generic Electronic Module (GEM). GEM offers diagnostics to locate and repair problems affecting the subsystems that it controls.
