Azimuth System Check

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Lincoln Blackwood. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Object used in this system check can be fabricated from a 3" diameter pipe 39" in length. See Fig 1. Azimuth (side-to-side) system check should be performed with vehicle on a level surface. Parking aid module will default to ON when ignition key is turned from LOCK to RUN position.

Set parking brake. Turn ignition switch to RUN position and place shift lever in Reverse. Ensure parking aid speaker sounds when parking aid module detects objects within appropriate distances. For object locations and distances, see MAXIMUM DETECTABLE OBJECT DISTANCES  table.
