Programmable Module Installation (PMI) Using the Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) When The Original Module is Available

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Lincoln Mark LT and 2007 Ford Pickup. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: If PMI fails on the first attempt, exit the diagnostic tool PMI application and carry out the procedure again.
  1. Connect the IDS and ID the vehicle as normal.
  2. From the Toolbox icon, select and highlight Module Programming and press the check mark.
  3. Select and highlight Programmable Module Installation.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions, turn the ignition key to the OFF position, and press the check mark.
  5. INSTALL the new module and press the check mark.
    NOTE: For vehicle security module (VSM) programming only, refer to steps a-d below, all others skip to step 6.
    1. Turn the headlamp switch to the OFF position.
    2. Turn the ignition key to the RUN position.
    3. Open the drivers door.
    4. Unlock the doors using the interior trim switch.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions, turn the ignition key to the ON position, and press the check mark.
  7. The module configuration is complete.
  8. Test the module for correct operation.
