Programmable Module Installation (PMI) Using the Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) When The Original Module is NOT Available

NOTE:
If PMI fails on the first attempt, exit the diagnostic tool PMI application and carry out the procedure again.
- Install the new module.
- Connect the IDS and ID the vehicle as normal.
- From the Toolbox icon, select and highlight Module Programming. Then highlight the module that was installed and press the check mark.
- Select and highlight Programmable Module Installation. Then highlight the module that was installed and press the check mark.NOTE: For vehicle security module (VSM) programming only, refer to steps a-d below, all others skip to step 5.
- Turn the headlamp switch to the OFF position.
- Turn the ignition key to the RUN position.
- Open the drivers door.
- Unlock the doors using the interior trim switch.
- Follow the on-screen instructions, turn the ignition key to the RUN position and press the check mark.
- The IDS retrieves the module data, automatically downloads the data into the new module, and displays Module Configuration Complete.
- If the data is not available in the module, the IDS displays a screen stating to contact the As-Built Data Center. Retrieve the data from WWW.FMCDEALER.COM at this time and press the check mark.
- Enter the module data (the module address and line are displayed to the left of the 3 entry boxes) and press the check mark.
- The IDS downloads the data into the new module and displays Operation Successful - Programming Complete.
- Test the module for correct operation.
