Test G: Radio Interference

NOTE: If the Original Equipment Manufactured (OEM) audio unit has been replaced with an aftermarket unit, the vehicle may not pass this test. Return the vehicle to OEM condition before following this pinpoint test.

Verify Generator Is The Source Of Radio Interference

Start engine and let idle. Tune radio to station where interference is present. Turn ignition off. Disconnect generator 3-pin harness connector. Start engine and let idle. Is the interference present with the generator disconnected? If yes, repair radio concern. If no replace generator. See GENERATOR under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
