CAUTION:
Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. Proper grounding of technician and workplace is essential to prevent damage. Prior to removal of modules, it is necessary to upload module configuration information to New Generation Star (NGS) tester. This information needs to be downloaded into new module once installed. See MODULE CONFIGURATION under PROGRAMMING.
CAUTION:
Before replacing any control module, ensure all module ground and power circuits are functioning properly. For circuit identification, see GROUND DISTRIBUTION and POWER DISTRIBUTION articles in WIRING DIAGRAMS.
NOTE:
When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.
