Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS): Notes

CAUTION: Improper positioning of OCS or seat cushion pan during assembly may damage OCS components. OCS component failure may result. When positioning OCS and seat cushion pan, ensure OCS is not damaged during procedure.
NOTE: OCS system components (seat cushion foam pad, bladder with pressure sensor and electronic control unit) are calibrated to each other. OCS system components are not to be installed separately. If OCS component requires being replaced, all components must replaced as an assembly, using an OCS service kit.
There are 3 OCS service kit available for this vehicle: base seat, heated seat and climate controlled seat. Ensure proper service kit is installed when replacing OCS.
Heated seat element on right front seat cushion is not serviceable separately. I f new heated seat element needed on right front seat cushion, a new OCS service kit equipped with heated seat element must be installed.
If right front seat cushion is disassembled, new front passenger seat trim cushion trim cover is installed or seat side shield is removed, OCS must be zeroed.

An original equipment OCS will have electrical connectors that can be disconnected at OCS electronic control module. A service part OCS will have electrical disconnect deterrents at OCS electronic control module.
