Low-Reverse Servo: Removal

  1. Position the vehicle on a hoist. Place transmission in Neutral. Disconnect the negative battery cable. If equipped, the transmission servo heat shield must be unclipped from the oil pan rail and positioned out of the way for transmission oil pan removal. See Figure .
  2. Remove transmission oil pan and fluid filter. See DRAINING & REFILLING  under LUBRICATION.
  3. Remove the low/reverse band servo cover screws (1). See Fig 1 . Remove the low/reverse band servo cover and gasket (2).
  4. Discard the low/reverse servo separator plate cover gasket. Remove the low/reverse band servo piston and rod assembly. See Fig 2 .
