Diagnostic Quick Test: Notes
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Ford Pickup Heritage. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION:
Although Diagnostic Quick Test appears to be a fast and powerful diagnostic aid, it unfortunately cannot detect all possible failures that can occur within the system. Therefore, the Diagnostic Quick Test procedure in this article has been carefully constructed to guide you and refer you to Pinpoint Tests that inspect components and circuitry associated with a particular symptom.
NOTE:
The primary causes of driveability problems, before the age of electronics, still exist. The best diagnosis begins with a list of symptoms and possible causes, followed by a careful checking of those causes in the most probable order. Refer to SYMPTOM CHARTS - BI-FUEL CNG
for a list of symptoms and probable causes.
Quick Test checks the electrical integrity and function of the alternative fuel system and outputs the test results when requested by a scan tool. A system pass indicates the hardware monitored by the alternative fuel system is functioning within normal operating limits. A system pass will be displayed when no Diagnostic Trouble Codes DTCs are stored in Continuous Memory and a scan tool communication error does not exist.
