Test K: No Module/Network Communication

  1. Check NGS tester terminals physical damage, bent terminals or corrosion. If problem does not exist, go to next step. If problem exists, repair as necessary.
  2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Inspect DLC for physical damage, bent terminals or corrosion. If problem does not exist, go to next step. If problem exists, repair as necessary and retest system.
  3. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 16 (Yellow/Black wire) at DLC. See Figure . If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open or short to ground in Yellow/Black wire between DLC and fuse No. 12 (30-amp) in power distribution box.
  4. Measure resistance between ground and terminals No. 4 (Black wire) and No. 5 (Black/White wire) at DLC. If both measurements are 5 ohms or less, repair or replace NGS tester. If either resistance reading is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in appropriate circuit.
