Testing Procedure

ANTI-LOCK and BRAKE warning lights alert vehicle operator of problems in braking system. Red BRAKE warning light monitors master cylinder fluid level and parking brake lever status. Amber ANTI-LOCK warning light alerts vehicle operator to problems in ABS system.

When trouble shooting ABS system, use the test procedures in the order in that they are presented. Using other than recommended procedure could result in wasted time and/or unnecessary replacement of parts.

It is always good practice to use the following order of testing to minimize wasted time and incorrect parts replacement:

• INSPECTION & VERIFICATION
• DIAGNOSTIC TESTS
