- Turn ignition off. Deactivate air bag system. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS
article. Disconnect 28-pin ECS module connector (Gray) located behind right kick panel. Inspect connector for loose, damaged or corroded terminals. Repair connector as necessary and retest system for normal operation. If connector is okay, go to next step.
- Measure resistance of Light Blue/White wire between terminal No. 19 at ECS module connector and terminal No. 7 at DLC. See Figure and Fig 1
. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace ECS module and retest system for normal operation. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step.
- Disconnect 14-pin connector C201 (Black) located behind right kick panel. Inspect connector for loose, damaged or corroded terminals. Repair connector as necessary and retest system for normal operation. If connector is okay, go to next step.
- Measure resistance of Light Blue/White wire between terminal No. 2 at connector C201 and terminal No. 7 at DLC. See Figure and Fig 2
. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair open in Light Blue/White wire between female half of connector C201 and ECS module connector. Retest system for normal operation. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Light Blue/White wire between male half of connector C201 and DLC. Retest system for normal operation.
