Trailer Brake Controller System

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Ford Pickup, 2006 Ford F550 Super Duty, 2006 Ford F450 Super Duty, and 2006 Ford Cab & Chassis. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The trailer brake controller system consists of the following components:

The trailer connectivity status, gain setting and relative trailer braking power during a braking event are provided to the driver through the LED display in the TBC module.

The brake pressure transducer is part of the master cylinder assembly. Refer to HYDRAULIC BRAKE ACTUATION .

The TBC module is normally a factory installed item but it can be dealer installed. If the module is dealer installed, a new master cylinder with a brake pressure transducer must also be installed and the instrument cluster must be reconfigured to communicate with the TBC module.
