Leaf Spring Assembly: Installation

  1. Install leaf spring into hanger. Tighten bolt and nut finger tight. Install spring into shackle. Tighten bolt and nut finger tight. Install NEW left "U" bolt thought front spring cap. Install NEW right "U" bolt through axle assembly bracket. Install spring spacer and nuts. Tighten nuts finger tight.
  2. Lower vehicle onto jack stands until front suspension is supporting weight of vehicle. Tighten "U" joint bolts in a criss-cross sequence. Tighten rear then front leaf spring retaining bolt. Reverse removal procedure. Tighten remaining bolts and nuts. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
