Test G: Memory Mirror Inoperative Using Remote Transmitter

  1. Ensure gearshift selector is in Park and ignition is off. Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester following manufacturers instructions. Retrieve Driver's Seat Module (DSM) DTCs. Clear continuous DTCs. Perform DSM self-test. If any DTCs exist, perform appropriate test. See DSM DTC INDEX  table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If no DTCs exist, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect Remote Anti-Theft Personality (RAP) module 22-pin harness connector C257. Disconnect memory set switch 10-pin harness connector C503. Measure resistance in Brown/Light Green wire between memory set switch harness connector C503 terminal No. 4 and RAP module harness connector C257 terminal No. 6. See Figure and Figure . Measure resistance of Black/Orange wire between memory set switch harness connector C503 terminal No. 3 and RAP module harness connector C257 terminal No. 16. If both resistances are less than 5 ohms, repair power door lock system. See POWER DOOR LOCKS - EXPEDITION & NAVIGATOR article. If either resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open or high resistance in appropriate wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
