Pinpoint Test J: The Rear Wiper Wash And Wipe Function Does Not Operate

- J1 CHECK THE STEERING COLUMN MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Steering Column Multifunction Switch C202a.
- Carry out the steering column multifunction switch component test. Refer to COMPONENT TESTING article.
- Did the steering column multifunction switch pass the component test
- Yes : GO to J2.
- No : INSTALL a new steering column multifunction switch. REFER to STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES .
- J2 CHECK CIRCUIT 1302 (WH/LG) FOR AN OPEN
- Measure the resistance between steering column multifunction switch C202a-4, circuit 1302 (WH/LG), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
- Yes : GO to J3.
- No : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
- J3 CHECK CIRCUIT 410 (WH/OG) FOR AN OPEN
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Rear Window Wiper Motor C4171.
- Measure the resistance between steering column multifunction switch C202a-8, circuit 410 (WH/OG), harness side and rear window wiper motor C4171-4, circuit 410 (WH/OG), harness side.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
- Yes : GO to PINPOINT TEST K .
- No : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
