Removal and Installation

- Disconnect the battery. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
- Remove the LH scuff plate.
- Remove the LH A-pillar lower trim panel.
- Position the carpet aside.
- Remove the 2 nuts and position the auxiliary junction box aside.
- Disconnect the 5 FEM electrical connectors.
- Remove the 3 FEM bolts and the FEM.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
CAUTION:
Prior to the removal of the module, it is necessary to upload module configuration information to the appropriate diagnostic equipment. This information needs to be downloaded into the new module once installed. For additional information, refer to MODULE CONFIGURATION

Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. If exposed to these charges, damage may result.
NOTE:
Once the FEM is installed, it is necessary to download the module configuration information from the diagnostic tool into the new module. For additional information, refer to MODULE CONFIGURATION
