Test F: Passive Anti-Theft System (Pats) Module Does Not Respond To NGS Tester
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) module 16-pin connector C255. See Fig 1. Inspect harness connector for loose, damaged or corroded terminals. If problem does not exist, go to next step. If problem exists, repair as necessary and retest system.
- Measure resistance of Tan/Orange wire between PATS module connector C255 terminal No. 6 and Data Link Connector (DLC) terminal No. 2. See Figure and Fig 1
. Measure resistance of Pink/Light Blue wire between PATS module connector C255 terminal No. 5 and DLC terminal No. 10. If resistance of each circuit is 5 ohms or less, replace PATS module. If resistance of either circuit is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Pink/Light Blue wire and/or Tan/Orange wire. Retest system for normal operation.
