Oxygen Sensor: Service and Repair

EGO Sensor Wrench:

SPECIAL SERVICE TOOL(S)

REMOVAL
1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Maintenance/Service and Repair.







2. Disconnect the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) electrical connector.







3. Remove the HO2S using the special tool.
- If necessary, lubricate the HO2S with Penetrating and Lock Lubricant E8AZ-19A501-B to assist in removal.

INSTALLATION







1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Apply a light coat of High Temperature Nickel Ami-Seize Compound F6AZ-9L494-AA meeting Ford specification ESE-M12A4-A to the threads of the HO2S.
