Test G: Instrument Cluster Module Does Not Respond To NGS Tester
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2001 Ford Pickup. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect instrument cluster White 22-pin harness connector C237. Inspect harness connector for damage. If harness connector is okay, go to next step. If harness connector is damaged, repair as necessary.
- Measure resistance between instrument cluster harness connector C237 terminal No. 1 (Tan/Orange wire) and Data Link Connector (DLC) terminal No. 2 (Tan/Orange wire). Measure resistance between instrument cluster harness connector C237 terminal No. 2 (Pink/Light Blue wire) and DLC harness connector terminal No. 10 (Pink/Light Blue wire). See Figure and Fig 1 . If both resistances are 5 ohms or less, replace instrument cluster and perform data link diagnostics. See DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST . If either resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair Tan/Orange wire and/or Pink/Light Blue wire between instrument cluster and DLC. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
