System Tests: Notes
WARNING:
Deactivate air bag system before performing any service operation involving steering column components. See
AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. Do not apply electrical power to any component on steering column without first deactivating air bag system. Air bag may deploy.
CAUTION:
When battery is disconnected or modules are replaced, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.
NOTE:
Before beginning system tests, perform TROUBLE SHOOTING
.
Verify the customer complaint by operating wiper/washer system. Visually inspect for obvious sign of mechanical and electrical damage. If no visual damage is evident, perform appropriate system test. See SYSTEM TEST INDEX table. A digital volt-ohmmeter is required to test the wiper/washer system. See WIRING DIAGRAMS for terminal numbers.
