Test A: No Communication With Generic Electronic Module
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Lincoln Blackwood. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
After repair, clear DTCs and retest system.
- Disconnect GEM harness connector C201a. Measure resistance between GEM harness connector C201a terminal No. 25 (Light Blue/White wire) and DLC terminal No. 7 (Light Blue/White wire). See Fig 2. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Light Blue/White wire between GEM and DLC connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Disconnect all GEM harness connectors and remove GEM from central junction box. Check for backed out, corroded or loose terminals. Repair as necessary. Connect all GEM harness connectors and connect GEM to central junction box. Operate all windows from all switches. If problem still exists, replace GEM. See GENERIC ELECTRONIC MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If problem does not exist, system is okay.
